Finding the right link
- Page: open your page and copy the address, e.g.
facebook.com/joescafe. Set a custom username in your page settings for a shorter, cleaner link. - Group: open the group and copy the address from the browser, or use Share → Copy link.
- Event or post: use the Share button → Copy link.
Why not use Facebook’s own QR code?
Facebook can show a basic QR code for pages, but you can’t style it, add your logo, or get print-ready SVG files. Here you can, and it works for groups, events and individual posts too.
Tips
- Add a short call to action next to the code: “Follow us for daily specials”.
- Make sure the page or group is public, or people will hit a login wall.
- Use the same approach for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or LinkedIn: just paste the profile link.
How it works
The code holds your Facebook link as a normal web address. When someone scans it, their phone opens it in the Facebook app if it is installed, or in the browser if not. It is a static code, so it keeps working as long as the page, group or event exists at that address.
Make the page worth the scan
- Check what a logged-out visitor sees by opening the link in a private browser window. Private groups show only their description and a join button.
- Pin a post at the top with the thing people scanned for: the menu, the event details or the offer.
- Use a short custom username for your page. A shorter link makes a simpler code.
Where to put it
- Shop windows and counters, with “Follow us for daily specials”.
- Event posters, linking straight to the Facebook event so people can respond.
- Receipts and packaging, linking to your page for reviews and updates.
- Community noticeboards, linking to a local group.
Changing the link later
If you change your page username, the old link may stop working, and printed codes would break with it. Settle on the username before you print, or point the code at your own website and link to Facebook from there.
